BTW when you do the piston seals use the updated seal. it has a round profile not square. The new seal is not listed in parts but is listed in a service letter. it is easier to assemble and lets the piston return and cuts down on brake drag.
Does anyone have the updated round piston seal part numbers? I tried the square ones and they tore, so looking for a better option. Machine is in the back country and 5 hour trip to the CAT parts store. Thank you in advance for info.

Do you have the part number for the square seals? Might be able to do some searching from that number.

The serial number of the machine is 87K01140, it's a 1992 416B. The part #'s for the square piston seals 9R-9409 and 9R-9410. I'm looking to see if there is an uograded o'ring instead of these square rings.

Thank you for your help. I will use the new existing seals and try the above recommended techniques to install.

G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.
Sorry, I drew a blank also. I looked everywhere I could think of, including the build records. As far as I can see the 9R-9409 & 9R-9410 have been in that assembly since Day 1 and have never changed. It's not easy installing those square piston seals without "shaving" them if you're not familiar with the process.

BTW your correct machine Serial Number is 8ZK01140.
