Hi there MTB345.:)

We bought a terex pegson jawcrusher in -99. Sent it to Kosovo and it worked 24/7 for a year, then slowed down to 12 hour shifts for another year.
I've got it in my yard now, and it still works well.

2005 we bought a maxtrak 1000, had it with us to Afghanistan, it runned ap 600 hours in 4 months.
Now we have bought 2 maxtrack 1000sr, so we got 4 Terex in our park.

I have nothing bad to say about them.
The Metrotrack from -99 is underpowered because we got the "wrong" engine, a cummins, with to few hp.
We have, as u understand, very good experiense with the Terex pegsons.

And the new ones with Cat engines has enough hp. Bether that way, you get a longer life on the engines and it runs easier and on less fuel.

What spesific modell are you looking at by the way?

There is a video of our maxtrak working in afghanistan on youtube, search for mktef.

I guess the distance to the nearest dealer didn't really influence your purchasing decisons. ;)

We always bring serviceparts with us.:D
+ wearparts + things that might go wrong.....
Takes some space and costs a few bucks.:)

You know going to Afghanistan with new equipment is like going to the moon.
You find absolutely nothing of spares around.

Normaly we have weekly logistical flights.
If its burning on the toilet, we send a guy with the parts in his luggage.
The show must go on.
