Hi guys. quick question im interested in doing a season of gold mining similar to the tv series gold rush.I know gold rush is stupid and all edited and real life would be completely different. Its just something id be interested in doing for the experience not for the money or anything. I reckon it would be enjoyable i worked at quarrying before and i enjoyed that. So just wondering what you guys think as some of you are probably from them areas what is the best way to get a crack at this to get contacts instead of just landing in some Alaskan town with no direction!!

Ole boy that done it with a pan told me to be sure and take a mustard bottle on a rope where you could carry it over your shoulder. Said it was a lot easier to suck them flakes in the bottle than dig them out by hand.

Canada rather than Alaska, the paperwork might be less difficult.
http://youtu.be/TRLho5yQXdA (minelab aus - this guy sounds like he is from north of the equator) There will probably be books to read and paperwork/ permits etc before you go anywhere near the outback with a minelab.
