Looks like the yarder I set my first choker on. If it is in fact this yarder, it is the ( rayoneir no. 1218 ) It was a 100 or 110ft.berger square tower with a Madill winch sitting on it. Wow the memories from that yarder. I saw a Lot of firsts on that yarder. Man could it pull. Raised and lowered it with the haulback and each guy line had a block in it that was hooked to a stub then to a stump. That was back in 1973/74. After that I wound up pulling rigging. Off to a Madill. I think it was the 1179. Small pipe 90footer with a V8 71 GM in it. That's when I learned to fight hang ups.
In an earlier post I saw your question regarding the 1200 that was in port McNeil at that time. I did work on it a time or two when the bull gang was moving our yarder. Same set up as the 1179 except it looked newer. Had paint and no dents. I recall it being a well looked after yarder and it had a great crew. Bob (Bobo) Henry was running it the few times I was on it.

20150415_164031_resized - Copy (2) - Copy.jpg It's 880014 X Bear Creek, Olympic Forest Products. I was up there yesterday and helped put lines on etc. barging on Friday and yarding shortly after for a week or two. Those guys did a fantastic job rebuilding that machine, updated the yarding controls like the Log Max GY lots of cool stuff.:)
