Madill / Northwest 70T think these were the predecessor of the 075. Madill rubber carrier, cab, boom etc.

A friend of mine owner operator of this 70T had a mishap one day. It had a small rotec with 8 bolts to the house(northwest machinery deck) 4 groups of 2 they kept coming loose so he kept tighting them. Actually they were stretching and much to his dismay they boke one day. Luckly for him he was parallel with his carrier so it didn't fall off, the snorkel cap hit the ground and the backstop hung up on the carrier so their she sat. Pulled her back down chained her up and off to the shop. I think they had to put a new rotec center swivel etc. lots of damage but could have been a lot worse...NO PICTURES

This 044 CZ 52-15 arived new 1977 Nanaimo Lks. I started running it in 1979 (19 yrs old):D it has all the same characteristics as the unit in your pics.trackloader. The small cab two piece windshield and lower guyline fairlead. Madill changed the cabs 80 or 81 I believe. If this was antiques roadshow I would estimate the 044 on the barge to be 1976-79 I wish I had wrote all the serial # on the backs of my photos :IMO

You're right on the money, Y-09 arrived in May, 1978. :thumbsup

Our 099 came from somewhere on the island from M and B in the late 90's (1997 maybe?).

The carrier is closer to the 065 from a regular "s" model as opposed to the 078 carrier from an 046. Notice the cab is rubber mounted on ours and has a cab forward treatment (like a Skagit).

Our brakes always seemed to hold good and is the same as an 046. ATD 224 on all three big drums (I think that's what Wichita called those ).

The pipe is longer and heavier than a regular 90 as well (same as an 046). With the extra sheaves, two more guy motors, and skyline capacity, it's a real beast. We got this bare of a motor for a real deal. Maybe they didn't like how it worked because they gutted what I understood to be a pretty recent motor out of it and left it in the yard. We put a solid 9L from a tank mount 009 and put it to work but always with the SC-20 Danebo....

Madill 099

This pictures taken in Lilooet, BC in august 2009.
Maybe it is not a 099, or is one of the main's converted to skyline? The plate says 4-525 which means only one main (haulback, skyline and straw) after what I can understand. But I'm faaaar from an expert!

Pat Stone's 099. It was very close to ours in design and went to a quarry or mine in the Quesnel area of BC. We tried to buy it and had a deal but they got a lot of interest, renegged on the deal and sold to a higher bidder. Don't think that guy is working it though....

046 Manual

I just found the manual from our old 046 that we scrapped out years ago. Sold the back end somewhere.....

S/N 10014 sold to Perry Logging in 1978 with a 12V71. The manual says "Y-14" and "Powell Lake" in faint blue markers on it. Any pics COntract Logger? You're the miracle man now......:notworthy

These used to belong to May Trucking of Boston Bar/Hope. It looks that May is now no longer. The best of these went to do some hydroelectric work in Port Alberni for Hazelwood Construction.

Back in the heyday May was the big highlead contractor in the valley and had as many as 13 towers working at once. Now just a distant memory:(

Sure it wasn't Percy Logging? I thought they operated at Powell Lake.

In august I met a gentleman from May Trucking at Harrison Lake, I understood they had sold off a lot of equipment, but still excist and do timber sales and some contracting out of Hope.

It's maybe a lot to ask, and I have absolutley no use for it here in Norway, but maybe you are going to scan that manual?
