Terex S-11E Series B

Hello,

I just took delivery of an S-11E series B scraper and would like to find an operators manual for the machine, as well as a service manual if I could get my hands on one. I've tried the usual places online and haven't had any luck. It has sat for quite a while and I'd like to service everything before we push it very hard. It has been repowered from a 4-71 to a 6-71 at some point in its lifetime and the engine runs out nicely. We have Detroit's around the farm, and I have the Terex 3-71, 4-71 & 6-71 engine service manual so I'm pretty well set on the engine front, but would definitely like to find manuals for the machine itself if anyone might know where to point me. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Contact Sycamore Enterprises. You can order any of the factory manuals for Terex equipment from them. They are a little pricey, but well worth it in my opinion.

Traxcavator, thank you for the contact at Sycamore I was able to get the manuals from them. You are correct, they were a bit pricey but they had them and delivered them quickly and in good quality. I appreciate the help. I'm trying to attach a couple of pictures of the machine, the retrofitted 6-71T really runs well and seems to have all the power needed. We're having a bit of trouble with the elevator stopping when in heavy dirt. I'm going to try to find hydraulic filters first and get it serviced before trying to adjust the control valve. Other than that, we're very happy so far.

Glad you got the manuals. The 671T should give you plenty of power. You should be able to adjust the distance between the flights and the cutting edge. If you adjust to the setting giving you the farthest distance between the elevator and the cutting edge, it may help reduce the elevator stalling in heavy clay or thick cuts. I’m not sure how familiar you are with elevating scrapers, but you need to make long thin cuts with it, you will not be able to bury the cutting edge and load it up in a short distance. Also make sure you are loading in 1st gear and full throttle. I’ve never operated an S-11E but on all other Terex scrapers, the key to operating efficiently is to keep the proper gear range selected so that you maintain high rpms at all times. Everything will function better and be more responsive at high rpm’s. If you have a pump issue, you may want to reach out to Stan at Claredon Scraper, he may be able to point you in the right direction for parts on anything associated with the elevator and the bowl.

Thanks, I'll reach out to Clarendon and see if they can help with the hydraulic filter cross reference. We have the elevator adjusted, but the chain still stalls under a bit of load. Dad has run an elevating scraper in the past so he's managing the cut thickness and keeps the Detroit screaming, it's either a relief valve issue (although it stalls in forward or reverse) or we're not getting enough pressure through the control valve and it needs adjusting and/or repair. We'll get it sorted, thanks for the comments and the potential parts supplier!
