Looking at a set of used rails and pads for a D6C. The pads have relief holes cut in them like snow pads. The holes are big, about 3 1/2". Wondering if they will let in alot of material such as sand, gravel, rocks, etc. while working and cause accelerated wear of the rollers, sprockets and rails? Anybody know about this?

Are called Mud Holes, more designed to let compacted residuals out on the sprocket turn than let more in. Have them on my replacement rails/shoes, found the definition in parts guides.

Agree with dmilller, you should see less wear, but every environment is different.
