    Case 850D torque converter removal

I took my belly pans off to clean. Noticed fluid was dripping from the bell housing hole. Pretty sure it’s leaking from the torque converter area. Engine oil level is fine. 2 quarts low on transmission. How does one remove the torque converter housing? I’m assuming there is a seal gone bad. The...

    Case 850D belly pans removal

Thanks, since I’ve posted this, that’s what I did, drove it up on some blocks and used plywood and a ATV jack and rolled them out. I knew my right brake didn’t work when I bought it. Upon further inspection it turns out that little brake slave is leaking when I filled up the master cylinder. I...

I just bought a used parts manual and a service manual online, they will be here next week. I did get the part number and that’s where I was offered $255 to $320 for that part number. R54145

    Case 850D converter temperature gauge

Well it’s really converter temperature. If I put a temperature gauge in, I was just wondering what the correct operating temperature for the converter was. They want $255 to $320 for a correct gauge that is green/red

    Case 850D converter temperature gauge

my glass is broke and so obviously it doesn’t work. Any ideas where I can get a replacement where I’m not paying more than $300? It’s just a temperature gauge isn’t it? Thanks

    Spectra-Physics on my dozer

Well, it’s sitting in the barn right now. I’m going to pull the belly pans off and clean everything and service it. I need to get me a parts book and a service manual somewhere. It’s just going to clean up my woods so no hard work for it. Will have to learn it, I had a dresser 125E before this...

    Case 850D belly pans removal

Yep, thank you for the advice. I have some short rail road ties. I need all the clearance I can get. I’m not 20 anymore, nor is my belly. I’m sure it’s full of debris. I never have help either.

Case 850D what year? And other questions.

Thank you for your input. I was thinking they may break, but was hoping they were grade 8, they’re only supposed to be 32 pound’s torque. I may give your idea some thought.

    Case 850D belly pans removal

So I want to take the belly pans off and clean all the junk out. I was wondering how anyone else did this. I have some railroad ties. Was thinking of using the blade to put some ties under the front tracks, then use a couple under the blade. Emergency brake is on. Was hoping that would give me...

    Spectra-Physics on my dozer

Thank you for the reply. I don’t know anything about it. It appears to be piped in, so I’ll just cut the cables and leave it. It was probably nice in 1988, when the dozer was new. Thanks
