    2011 Vermeer V8550A Trencher

    My 2001 vermeer V8550A trencher is having issues where it will trench perfectly fine for about 15 minutes and then quit and will not work until I let it cool down for a few hours. The trencher will still work in reverse, just not forward until I let it cool down.

    Ok thats good to know. Mine is missing all the washers. I'm guessing it is normal for that shaft I be able to move side to side a little bit unless it needs to be tight.

    Do you know what the fix is to get rid of side to side slop on front axle shaft? I'm not sure if it is supposed to have washers or if its just worn out. I've attached picture of what I'm talking about. Every time I turn sharp and can feel to thump to one side.

    Yes it is but the axle shaft is seized onto track frame so I am having to remove entire rear axle shaft.

    Does anyone have any experience with removing rear axle on cat 297c? I am trying to remove rear left side axle and it seems as though the rear nuts are impossible to get a wrench onto inside machine.

    I have fuel being pumped to injection pump. It will runs great for about 10 minutes and then start running rough like its not getting fuel. Then once I idle it down and let it recover for about a minute or so it will run fine for about 5 minutes again

    Cat 297C running rough

    I have tried a few other things with no luck. Machine still stumbles and misfires at full throttle. I checked the codes and am only getting codes in Mode 2. The codes are 91-3 and 2471-3. Any clues on what else i should check. Could it possible be bad injectors?
