    You were right about the bushings on the FWD/REV shift linkage, completely frozen. The original bushings were steel and corroded. I put the replacement bushings in and it shifts perfectly.

    Is the neutral safety the switch or contact behind the FWD/REV change linkage? I see the wire to that is broken or disconnected on one end, wasn't sure what it did.     It looks like tiny fines to me on the magnets, but will defer to expert opinion. The screen looked almost brand new - nothing on it at all. Not sure how important this is, but the screen was installed upside down. I only know this because the rim of it is stamped with "this side out".
