Engine only runs with full choke

That's why the shop I took the welder to doesn't use aftermarket parts. They had issues with aftermarket and can't warranty them. I'm sure some aftermarket are very good quality though. The front seal on the engine leaks a little and OEM Continental parts aren't available anymore. They agreed...

Engine only runs with full choke

Like I mentioned the shop is known as the engine drive welder specialists. It's hard to see a welder more than a few years old that doesn't have their sticker on it.

Engine only runs with full choke

It's fixed and they load tested it and it's putting out what it's supposed to. $500 for a used parts machine with good diodes and some other parts I can use and about an hour and a half labour to get the welder running. Their shop rate is quite a bit lower than other shops at $125/hr. Most other...

    Overload of the Day

Reminds me of the dinosaur taxi on The Flinstones.

Cat 950H, is it to much?

It should make very snow clearing very quick.

    Old D9 undercarriage parts

Is DCR similar to DCF/Trek? That price seems like a steal for a D9! Could order a spare set of segments just to have them.

    Quick Coupler Boss Welding

Might not be enough heat input to affect the arms or mounted in a low stress area of the arms.

    Quick Coupler Boss Welding

Could weld from each end and leave the final crater in the middle. I'm not sure if loader arms are stress relieved from the factory like some excavator booms are? Preheat will help reduce stress. Steel plate has the grain structure in all directions unlike flat bar or beams that have it in one...

    Quick Coupler Boss Welding

I'm not sure if loader arms are stress relieved from the factory like some excavator booms are? As far as welding it might depend on the heat input.

Broken Bolt - Crossmember to Reverser - John Deere 350 - How to Fix?

I think Cat bolts are like unofficial grade 9 bolts. I had a 3/4" grade 12 bolt snap on my tractor that I'm convinced was a defective bolt. The other grade 8 bolt held fine. The bolt held the cab on the top of the axle and the loader frame on the bottom. It's only a 45 HP tractor and I don't do...

    Bolt from hell!

Never heard of an 8" angle grinder. The worst is guys putting a 7" disc on a 5" grinder. Real easy to lose some flesh! Makita can tell when someone has done it and will void the warranty. It takes the bearing out. Walter has an exclusive grinder made by Metabo that is anti-vibration. They even...

Engine only runs with full choke

The diodes went up about 2 1/2 times in price with a new part number. Maybe they are an improved diode common on newer machines. I don't know but even the shop thought they were way too expensive. I'm sure Miller could source cheaper diodes if they wanted to. Miller Big 40's were made for...

Engine only runs with full choke

If the Esab was basically a newer Linde they are very nice Mig machines. Did it have inductance control? Most Linde's did and you could adjust the arc however you wanted it.

    86 Champion 8400 transmission fluid

I was wondering if a 10-30 TO4 oil could help prevent slipping in some gears over using a straight 10 weight oil? Also can oil that may need to be changed cause slipping? My track loader calls for 30W but the shop said 10-30 would work better for different temps. The grader with an 8400...

    740a Series VI

Good that Volvo has some parts but they are crazy high in price! Way worse than Cat or JD. Still sucks Jade is gone. They did know their stuff and had a lot of used parts.

BrandTech Machinery Construction - This is a SCAM

There's a few cheap $#@tards that have ripped me off that I wish would get taken by one of these scams. A little (or big) taste of their own medicine!

What are these remaining parts and functions of the HTC 8670?

A simple switch like that for the outriggger seems out of place for a large crane.

    Old D9 undercarriage parts

Just seems odd sprocket segments are hard to find.

Engine only runs with full choke

I guess Miller being one of the largest manufacturers of complex electronic (welding) equipment in the world is just trying to rip people off. Their parts are ridiculous but so are almost everybody else's. My expertise is primarily welding. I realize not everybody is competent at welding so I...

Engine only runs with full choke

If you were close I'd have you take a look at it. I'd probably mess something up if I attempted to fix it myself.
