    953 loader opinions

The older 953D is 16700 hours and a 2007 model. It gives you an idea of the prices. I did abit of research, and there aren’t that many 953’s around on Machinery Trader. Those that are, seem to be more expensive than these ones here

    953 loader opinions

Good evening. I’m not a traxcavator man as such, but there’s 2 here in the yard where my D9 is snoozing. The newer one is a 2014 model with 6400 hours and at £67k it’s reasonably priced. However, the market is extremely poor at the moment and can’t give them away at any price!

    Looking for information

I would think a collector would want that. It looks too good to scrap

Anyone been a victim of an equipment scam?

I’ve never sold anything that wasn’t paid for in full before loading onto a low loader.

    Cat D5 Track Issues

Yes,James Gaughan and son would very likely have the parts. They are a legit company with 50 years of experience in shipping parts all over the world. Sue Kelly is the woman to speak to that heads up the parts department here in the UK

    Bought a D5N

:D Don’t get me wrong Nige,The hi drives got treated a whole lot different. They only ever got the specified oil from Cat that was stated in the operator’s manual, and they got serviced more often than the book suggested. The results spoke for themselves. But back to the old D8’s…..Dare I admit to...

    Bought a D5N

Yes,all my D8H/D8K tractors ran 15/40 in engine, tranny and final drives. Would chuck it into ccu gearboxes too and occasionally into the hyd tanks if no hyd all was available

    identify old d8 engine

I’ve no idea, but there is a similar V8 over here in the UK that’s stuffed into a vintage D7

    Bought a D5N

I’m guessing that by scary clean, the op maybe wondering if the oil was changed just to get it sold and was possibly hiding something. I’m always suspicious of new oil in an engine, although it’s often an innocent explanation

    Bought a D5N

Don’t stress it too much,it could work for ever and a few years more if looked after

D8K with D342 Spacer Plate Engine: Tons of Black Smoke and No Power

Good to see an update on this tractor. I’ve not experienced that issue on any of my 12 x D8’s though in 35 years,so I’ll leave it to the qualified chaps.

    Bought a D5N

When I bought my D8R,TC tractors instructed me only to buy a pre huie model to avoid any bullets.

I quite often watch C&C videos. They seem a good outfit.

    Cat D5 Track Issues

As I stated on my previous post,I think it’s been hung up on a stump or rock. I’m not experienced enough to have seen any other reason for that kind of damage. As for apportioning blame, that’s going to be an unpleasant ride for all parties. Can you get some pics of the underside of the...

    Cat D5 Track Issues

Here in the UK,it’s virtually unheard of to find any tractor smaller than a D8 that’s not lgp. We have such a diverse mix of weather and material that running std undercarriage would see your dozer often stood fir 6 months or more.

    Cat D5 Track Issues

I’ll guess that it’s been hung up on a tree stump or rock. As for the age of the tractor, the serial number found on the transmission may not match the chassis? Just a thought. Looks like the machine is nice enough and well worth fixing.

    Cat D7G Injectors getting hot

From memory, the seals around the pc chamber are sitting in water,so can’t be that. As for the seals on the injector nozzles,I thought they were to keep dirt out really. It’s been a long time for me,but sounds like your nozzles and adapters aren’t sitting well,or slobbering nozzles

    Cat D7G Injectors getting hot

If it’s been sat for a long time, are any coolers blocked or cracked?,possibly oil has settled in radiator blocking flow. This can cause restrictions up at the head and get things dangerously hot around combustion chamber seals and injector seals. You may be close to cracking heads?

    1963 D7E Oil in radiator

Unfortunately,my D8 would get hot,so not possible to run it. It was a front line tractor at the time and working long hours. The undercarriage was pretty much worn out and it hadn’t had any major money pumped into it,so I broke it for spares.I had another 4 D8’s running at the time,so the parts...
