    D8K or D9N need advice!

It is steering clutch brake linings. You’ve got a lot of labour ahead of you unfortunately. Yes,cab completely off, fuel tank off then a good jet wash. There will be significant cleaning required of all valves and the entire bevel casing. It’s a pain of a job. Tony Coates TC tractors will post...

    Cat track loader purchase

Sorry to hear it’s still leaking. I guess you’ll find out what’s in the innards of the beast. On another note,a 973 that I tidied up last year for its owner has now been sold. It turned out nice

    Right to Repair

I’ve been watching the John Deer right to repair issue over the last few years from the UK. Good luck with it all and hope you win.

    What’s a d6c worth.

Well, from the long range picture the u/c looks half deceant at the very least. All rollers are sat up on the links and the grousers appear to be nicely squared off. In the UK that tractor would still have appeal to the collector chaps and possibly a handful of old skip recycling companies sitting...

    Bottom roller installation tricks

I often wonder that the non oem manufacturers start off good and cheap, then revert to bad and cheap once they get established. I still maintain that oem undercarriages are too expensive for what they are though. It needs careful monitoring to achieve the hourly u/c costs.

Can I ask if you had to blow the old pins out of the eq bar? I’m guessing you did

    Track pin question

Not a chance they’ll last 5 times as much in my experience. You’ll be lucky if they last 30% longer on a small dozer like yours

    2024 Cat D7G

It’s a scam. Hundreds of them about, mainly from the far east just looking to reel in an internet buyer.

    Cat track loader purchase

As a fellow owner,I’d be hoping and praying that Nige is right in letting nature take its course a good bit longer before taking things apart. Like the OP,I tend to think of the worse and be super happy when things prove me wrong. In this case,I’m quite confident that your 973 will heal up after...

That should be a cheap fix. Take it out, clean everything up and new o’rings should dry things up

    1963 D7E Oil in radiator

Assuming there’s no cracked heads, cracked block,it’s probably safe to refit with new head gaskets. There will be low liners and a few issues in there, but new gaskets should get you going for what you need out of that tractor. Whilst I’m happy to use non oem parts and gaskets,I will only ever...
