Komatsu D20A-6 - looking for used engine

I have a Komatsu D20A-6 dozer that I am in need of a used motor for. I have had engine out to several places near me to be rebuilt but have had bad luck in getting it completed. If anyone knows of a used engine for one of these for sale please let me know. Thanks.

CASE 680H Cranks but thats it...

Yes, after searching some they are definitely scarce. Looks like we be rebuilding it then- its probably got 20,000 hrs on it (maybe not that many haha). It hasn't outlived it's usefulness so will go that route. I'll update what I find. Thanks again.

CASE 680H Cranks but thats it...

Well it's a sad day... The head gasket finally went on the 'asphalt heifer'. It hasn't outlived it's usefulness yet so could anyone recommend where to possibly get a used motor? I would do a rebuild but there are not many machine shops left around here that I have had good luck with.

    Bobcat 225 ... should I buy it?

NOW THIS IS RIDICULOUS... had I not decided to double up on the head gaskets I never would have realized how much the first place charged me. I had Garten Tractor in Stockton, ca order it and didn’t pay any mind to the receipt when I picked it up. So got the second one from Sonsray in San...

    Bobcat 225 ... should I buy it?

Did get this thing running but need to shim the head. The shims aren’t available anymore - is it possible to double stack the composite head gaskets? It would come out to the exact clearance I need.

    Well this doesn't look good...

Ended up taking it to local machine shop and he made the piston. Put another plug in it and welded it again- amazingly the bore was ok.

    Well this doesn't look good...

Tried to locate a new piston - Case shows it but told me it was obsolete and of course discontinued. Couldn't find any left over stock either. Guess a good used one is my only option?

    Well this doesn't look good...

Am I to hope the filter caught the pieces?

    Well this doesn't look good...

I’m really starting to think that may have been it. It looks like a plug someone drove in and welded. Apparently didn’t realize it would interfere? At any rate there is a hole now because I drilled it out.

    Well this doesn't look good...

    1) not hollow 2) yes it was 3) factory 4) I’ll have to look. This was the last one I did- the others didn’t give a problem so I’ll have to look.

    Well this doesn't look good...

Can't get inside the tube but there something that looks like a plug ? It looks like it is what went through inside. Do they have pressure relief check ball on them sometimes?

    Well this doesn't look good...

Not a thing fell out. There is some sort of plug I noticed, let me see if I can get a good pic.

    Well this doesn't look good...

I don't think this is what you want the ram to look like when you pull it apart... Any suggestions as to what caused this? Definitely change the filters but what is it going to do to the pump?

    680H Brake question...

You are correct- just ended up being an air hose. Had one made up and it should be good.

    680H Brake question...

hi all - back again with this 680H. Everything has been working fine. Brakes all of the sudden seem to be locking up on their own. if it doesnt have enough air pressure the brakes will apply, correct? so should i be looking for a leaky hose or is there something else that could be the cause...
