is jake kruger kennys dad?

I don't think Ken and Jake are closely related . Jake was a long time BCFP employee , lived and worked at Bear Creek then moved with house to BCFP Renfrew Div. at Beach Camp When he retired in the late 1980's he was #1 on seniority list . Moved to Victoria when his sons Kelvin and Don were ready to start Junior High School . Ken is from Victoria , I recall him mentioning one time his father drove truck in Victoria for OK Paving .

Pat Mac (Bob MacMillen) BCFP Renfrew Div. 1st picture Don Wilson setting up empty preload trailer on landing to swap for loaded preload trailer, with an almost new #6-236 HDX Hayes . 2nd & 3rd picture Alex Malahoff running a TL 6 Washington Trak Loader loading the #225 HDX Hayes driven by Kay Peterson (sitting with bibed coveralls) one of the genuine characters of his time , Danish by birth trained as a baker, came to Canada and ended up in the Woods . I recall a story he told about working at Jordan River , where the logging trucks had to cross a bridge , with an over head structure , across the Mouth of the Jordan River to get to the Log Dump , so the loads couldn't be to high . One day he took a load with a Flare Butt Cedar Butt back on top of the load . He pulled on to the bridge , stopping to get out and and check the Height (which was to high) . A foreman came along and had a stern word with Kay who causally got back into the truck , backed it into the Hotel Driveway turned it around . Then drove the truck back to the loading side , told the loading crew to fix it and promptly quit .scan75.jpgscan76.jpgscan77.jpg

Those pics sure bring back memories growing up in Bear Creek, going to that school and breaking into the community hall to shoot pool on rainy days!!

Hay-racks and Venture booms as well as the Courtenay Loader with the "Live" Boom and what was called the "Easy-Way" Will dig out some of those and post over the holidays. Was there by any chance pictures of the hayrack pictured above with a head on shot.
