CAT 303C ENGINE PROBLEM

I have a 303c mini ex that is pushing the dip stick right out of the block when i am turning it over. Also it wont start for awhile. Is there something else besides piston rings shot, that could be causing this? also how bad is it to rebuild these, or those anybody know of where i can get a longblock or rebuilt engine or anything of that nature. its a s3q2 3cyl. mitsubishi engine machine serial number is BXT01917

The complete engine arrangement is Part Number 287-6713.
Can't see much of anything available out there in the market other than piece parts, no long block anywhere. Can't comment on how easy they are to rebuild.
