I’m trying to decode year on a machine that was offered to me, it’s a Caterpillar 304 E2
Serial # *CAT0304/EME405060*

I’d like to make sure it is not stolen and year if someone can please help!!

Your local Cat dealer should have access to a stolen machine database on the Cat DBS system. A call to them ought to answer the question if it was ever stolen.
