The 308B SR with S/N prefix 3YS is a grey market machine. I'm not even sure they have a pattern change valve. You may end up having to switch piloit hoses around.
I don't know if you have been looking for manuals of any type for it but you're likely to be disappointed. All the publications were only ever printed in Japanese.

I know this is an old post but the valve is in front of seat under the floormat.
