So, this is pretty straight forward.

There was a big fuel leak in the fuel pump to fuel common rail line. So the fuel pump head was removed and repaired as the thread of the line thst connects the pump to the common rail was stripped.

After the repair today the head was installed again and well, crank but no start. No fuel is coming out from the fuel pump to the common rail. Maybe during the repairing the head was damaged???? At the begining i thought the fuel line paths was clogged during the repair as no air was able to go through that line but, a technician inspected the piece and was able to make air flow through that fuel line after removing the lower valves of the head of the fuel pump.

Im suspicious that the solenoid is not working thus leading to no fuel to the common rail.

Im attaching the pictures of the part that was repaired and how it was repaired. Also s proof of how theres no flow through that line, liquid was pured into the hole and it just stayed there.

Hi everyone, I'm also new to the forum I have had a similar problem on a cat 320D excavator. No fuel was coming out from the rail pump, everything on the low pressure side was good but no fuel on the high pressure side therefore impossible to start. I checked there were no active faults on diagnostic tool, checked all sensors and wiring were ok. I decided to remove the fuel control solenoid on the top of the rail pump and I found that the valve that opens to allow fuel into the pump was seized up. i removed it and cleaned it up put it back and when cranking fuel was flowing out of the rail pump. i reinstalled the pipe from the rail pump to the rail, turned it over a few times and it started.

Hope that was helpful thanks.
