hello, first post here, i have a 2011 cat 259b3, that i use for general landscape work. i have a pretty well rounded mechanical history (truck mechanic 3 years, industrial boiler chiller mechanic 10 years, always had old equipment that required much work (case 1845b, bobcat 642b, farm equipment etc).
my question here is, i was working with the machine when i noticed a “pop” sound, immediately shut the machine down. i found that this rear bearing AND cap have snapped in two, is this identified as a rear axle bearing?? i havent been able to find any diagrams online and its saturday so ill impatiently try to research parts until the cat dealer opens on monday but havent had much luck.
if anyone can help identify this bearing and or part numbers it would be greatly appreciated , i attached a picture as well (it is only showing one picture uploaded, the bearing sits right behind the sprocket of the final drive)
