Hey there, working with my old man’s 2001 JCB 3cx powershift,
I was a good half an hour into moving a heap of topsoil when before I was about to plunge in for another bucket (bottom of the bucket hadn’t even touched the floor) it stalled on me, turned the ignition, it turned over, started up then stalled again instantly. Then nothing. No attempt to turn over. No clicking from the starter solenoids.

First we checked the fuses with our meter, all seemed fine. Checked the battery, all good.
We can get the engine to turn over using an old screwdriver but it doesn’t engage it’s itself and stay on.

Unclipping the starter solenoid we fastened a bit of wire to it directly to the battery bypassing all the wiring through the machine we got it to turn over and stay on.
Issue now is when the machine is on using the powershifter it’s not moving forward or backwards.
We’ve noticed that when the handbrake is on, when the shifter is in neutral the handbrake buzzer is still going off when it hasn’t in the past.
We’ve lost power to the headlights and indicators.

To me this seems like an issue with the power shifter. It’s a common occurrence to have to wiggle it when starting the machine to get it to turn over aswell as the fact even when the shifter is in neutral the handbrake buzzer is still blaring.

Any help/advice/questions would be greatly appreciated :)
