Is the track worn and floppy with sharp edges? Plastic or metal track? And is it supposed to be a Siamese hose in the boom.or two single lines? Check hose length also. Too long can cause issues.

Okay. All the pivot points may be worn in the track and it's allowing it to twist sideways and get into the cylinfer and get damaged. Are all the bolts in the track? How about the hoses? Are they supposed to br the plastic siamese hose or what? If they've been replaced with single lines they can get tangled up and twisted around each other and then problems start.
