Showpony, Awesome, just awesome! It isnt hard to believe what other think of Wabco's scrapers, most of the people who knock them have never operated them or owned them. Great job!!

Leroy, I bought a 101 F off a contractor in the Yarra Valley about 13 years ago. I cannot remember his name. He had 111A and Michigan twin power. He loved the 111A, it was called "catch me if you can". He was about 55 then. Sorry I have no other info.

That looks fantastic Showpony! With my old 252FT, it had a huge windows all the way around, made for great visibility! Love the photos!! I bet you cant wait to get her going!

Steve, The elevator motor on the 252FT was a beauty, all hydraulic and it never let me down, or ran too hot in summer. I have often wondered how big a hydraulic motor would have had to be on the 353FT? It would have to be massive to move not only the chain and elevators, but the material...

Brendon, thank god your father had the foresight to record that in colour and with sound! There wouldnt be too many of those around I wouldnt think. People underestimate the value of the scraper and the part it played in building Australia. The truckies in Australia have a bumper sticker...

Terex Kerry, you have lowered the standards of the good-will on this forum. Either 1. leave or 2. Apologise and keep it clean Jim

    Wabco scrapers at work

Hi Steve, No, my brother owns it now. My back wouldnt let me drive scrapers again (fulltime). He tells me he couldnt use it down south on the jobs he's on because the ground has too much water in it and the 252FT just pugs out the ground. He's using excavators and trucks at the moment, but he...

With my 252ft I fitted two large pulley belts hanging from the rear grab handles. The rocking action of the scraper kept the belts rubbing the shrowd, much like a pair of windscreen wipers. End of grass problems largely, you still have to clean it, but not as often! its simple, but it works!!

Steve, I used to return to the cut in my 252ft with the rear engine in idle, saved me a lot in fuel on an hourly rate. But if youre moving material per cu metre, I used to move as fast as my 252 ft (and back) could take it.
