    2000 JLG 450A

Ben - I purchased a used JLG T500J about a year ago. Perhaps some of my experiences may benefit you. First, go through the manual and make sure the hydraulic fluid level is correct, and the hydraulic fluid filter is clean, and you don't have any hydraulic leaks. Then I'd recommend contacting...

    Over charging

Oops, I misspoke on the voltage range. Assuming you have a 24v battery system, look for approximately 2.5volts higher than that when the unit is running.

    Over charging

Measure the battery voltage while the unit is running. You should see approximately 13.8 to 14.2 volts. If the voltage is much higher than that, that's a problem, and it's probably the alternator. Also make sure all the battery connections are clean.

JLG 1055 Tele throttle issue -- random intermittent zero throttle response.

Bill - I suggest giving JLG Tech Support a call and see what they have to say. Also ask them if a JLG Analyzer for your unit would be able to help you identify the problem. I purchased a JLG Analyzer for my JLG Lift. It was fairly inexpensive and offers a wealth of information. Butch JLG T500J

    Genie 34/20

Assuming the hydraulic cylinder in question and its associated hoses have no leaks, it could be either the hydraulic pump not working to full capacity, or perhaps air needs to be bleed out of the system.

    JLG T500J Reservoir Leak

K-Mo - I've heard the o-ring is typically the problem, but it should be pretty easy to determine. Just wipe the area down with some Dawn/water solution and get any residue washed away, then operate your Lift and see where the leak is. By the way, I finally got the hydraulic hoses replaced on...

    JLG T500J Questions

Thank you, I Googled your suggested wording and was able to find the Service and Maintenance Manual online dated July 25, 2018 - Rev 1. Looks like a lot of excellent information. After the hydraulic hoses get replaced on my T500J I plan to lower the cage with the emergency valves just to...

    JLG T500J Questions

Yes, I downloaded Operator's and Parts Manuals but I didn't know there was a Troubleshooting Manual. I need to find that. I saw a video where a guy got stuck up at 50 feet with his Towable Lift. He always made it a point to take his repelling rope and hardware with him in the cage, and it...

    JLG T500J Questions

Something else I forgot to ask. Have you ever had your T500J boom stop working when the cage was elevated? If so, how did you get it down?

    JLG T500J Questions

I purchased my T500J used about a year ago, a 2017 model with fairly low hours (238). I also use mine for personal use. When I first got my Lift home I noticed a thin film of hydraulic fluid collected under certain fittings, especially around the pump. I went through all fittings and...

    JLG T500J Questions

K-Mo thanks for the reply. Over the last few months I opened up an account with JLG and replaced all broken and/or worn parts on my T500J. The only thing left to do is replace some of the hyradulic hoses which run through the boom. A few of these hydraulic hoses are showing signs of cracks at...

    JLG-T500J Replacing Hydraulic Hoses

I own a 2017 JLG-T500J towable lift. The unit works but the hydraulic hoses that run through the boom are showing signs of age (cracks starting to develop at the bend points). I know these hoses are available through JLG Parts. Has anyone done the replacement on their JLG towable lift...

    JLG T500J Questions

I recently purchased a used (2017) JLG T500J towable lift (24v model) for use on my property. I've never owned a lift before and was hoping to get a few newbee questions answered: * Is there a diagnostic tool that connects to the T500J? If so, what is the model #, where does it connect, and...
