hi cps, i got the spring welded and put back together. The last half inch was hard, so much pressure on that unit. It measures out at 12 3/4 inches +/- from the flange where the ram comes out to the end cap where the tension nut is. Being the rubber track option its has a spacer on the butt...

Hey Abdul I’d love to come over for a barby and beers but I’m on the wrong side of the planet. You thinking of sunshine coast, but you’re not thinking west coast of British Columbia now are ya. Tad bit of travel time involved but not that i wouldn't like to though, thanks for the invite...

    Grey Market Hitachi

Hi Abul, that looks really interesting, so you just bolted it on to ports that were blanked off. I haven't even looked at the engine much but i think this looks like a good idea. Not to sure if you even need a fan on top. Going to have to go to the junk yard and look for an aftercooler. So when...

    Grey Market Hitachi

Abdul you think you could take a few pictures and share them? I think everybody who has machines like these are experiencing the same thing. The air box in the compartment is not such a good location. When i added the vent on the side it reduced the temperture big time.

Not even sure the age of the one i have, but it's a runner. They all need parts and repairs. What kind of problems are you finding hiluxman? Worst one i have run across is crap in the banjo screen. Nissan is a brand name should be no problem sourcing parts.

    Hitachi Ex58Mu Troubleshooting

Ex50 urg are pretty good for ther size, easy to work on most of the time, no extras computers very basic machine. Isuzu 3 cyl engines are pretty relable and cheap to replace. Parts seem easy to come by. Your fuel problem is most likely at the banjo bolt where it connects to the fuel pump from...

overheating Looneyro, I cut a vent in the side of the casing last fall and it made a huge difference in the air exchange in the engine compartment. Its only 8 x 14 but it seems to do the trick.

I think those manuals are for the newer models that pivot at the base of the boom. There isn't much similarity to the older models that have the fixed base at the bottom of the boom.

I have been running a Hitachi 50urg for a couple of years. I was impressed at the welding job on the machine. Parts have been easy to find and not out of line with other prices. Kind of sad there are no proper manuals.

    Top end power

Powerjoke, what does mean i have heard and used a few expressions like that before, but out west its either half full or half empty i guess the phrase got lost in translation going east rockies and totally confused by time it reached your neck of the woods. So what ever you do don't try to...

    undercarriage work

You might want to take it to a welder and have him build up the broken tip and add more weld to other tips and reshape them. Good time to check the idlers and rollers for wear and tear.

    Top end power

Not really to sure probably sounds like the machine runs around 18 to 19 and when i push it to the stop bolt it must be around 21 to 22 maybe 2300 rpm. I gotta get a tach instrutment i guess.

    Top end power

I was checking over the 3 banger Isuzu engine (3AB1) while it was idling and notice the linkage was abit sloppy, bolts had backed off and the linkage was sloppy. I went back to the cab and pushed the throttle forward as far as it would go and then went back to the engine and saw that the linkage...
