    Truck Inspection?

That's not it. I have it on my computer at work, I'll check tomorrow and write it down. I just looked at a map of Ohio townships and don't see it, I'm wondering now if it may have been a neighboring state. I'll get the answer.

    Truck Inspection?

Stopped by the highway garage, the 4900 is ready and the Ford is having the hydraulic lines installed. The guys in the shop are really pleased with them even though they're as old as they are.

Ideas to do a clean up on this property. An odd one.

I had never seen the sickle bar for skid steers! Pretty inexpensive and looks like it would work well for keeping roadside trees cut back so they branches don't hit traffic. We're having a problem with that in our town. The boom mounted mowers work well on the low brush but not so much up high...

    Truck Inspection?

They were everything they were listed to be!! We've had a couple light snow storms since they arrived but I'm not sure they have been out yet. They were equipped with tailgate spreaders which requires the dump body to be raised and that doesn't work out well around here. We're rural with many...

Ideas to do a clean up on this property. An odd one.

I have a grapple rake on my skid steer that would handle this well if I'm understanding your situation. If you sink the teeth into the soil a couple inches it will rip out the saplings by the roots. push along until you have enough that it gets tough to push and then clamp onto your pile and...

2011 Cat 247B3 Smoking, Throwing Oil HELP

I had this happen with my 248 while working snow. The crankcase vent had iced up and wouldn't allow pressure to escape, made a terrible mess of thing and I initially thought the the engine had blown. Pulled the vent off, took it inside and thawed it and then dried it and things were fine. It...

7.3 power stroke stick shift 1997 380k miles

I've had several of these, they're great when nothing's wrong but they have their quirks. Cam position sensors failed regularly leaving the truck like someone turned the ignition off. There's an injector harness under the valve cover that was prone to failure leaving you with 4 cylinders...

    Gooseneck hitch rating

Check with Kaufman Trailers. I've bought several from the both personally and at work, they can build to just about any specs you require.

    Truck Inspection?

These trucks are scheduled to be shipped tomorrow, most likely using I80 east to 81N to 84 east. If anyone spots them try to grab a pic and post. Thanks!!

    Truck Inspection?

I completed the purchase yesterday, the trucks are scheduled to be shipped from western Ohio Monday. I'm guessing they should arrive Wednesday. 1994 IH 4900 with DT466 and Alison 1996 Ford L8000 with 8.3 Cummins and Alison Both trucks are set up for plowing and spreading melting...

    trucks equipped with excavators opinions

I used to see backhoes mounted on truck chassis as a kid, about the F600 size in the 60s and early 70s. Con Edison used to have F350 dually pickups with a backhoe mounted in the back in the 90s, I'm thinking for digging up gas lines in the streets. Haven't seen any since.

    Truck Inspection?

I got this worked out based on the suggestions here. We are a local municipality but NY State mandates how we make purchases, the attorney was doing his job keeping us out of trouble. The intention of the laws are to minimize fraud and secure the best value for the taxpayers but you know how...

    Truck Inspection?

Does anyone know of a truck inspection service prior to purchasing a used truck? Something similar to a home inspection to be approved for a mortgage. My municipality is considering a used truck located at a dealership in western Ohio. Our attorney is strongly recommending an inspection before...

Favorite piece of equipment to run

I can't say I have a lot of experience on different equipment but I have run some different machines. I owned a Deere 410 TLB for 10 years and my Cat 248 skid steer for 25 years. I got very comfortable running both and feel they became an extension of my hands. I still have the skid steer. I've...

    TIG Welder

As I mentioned my work will be mostly sheet metal in auto body work and occasional repairs of aluminum truck bodies and perhaps some light fabrication with aluminum. I won't be welding high pressure pipes LOL, and for heavier steel I'll likely use my MIG. I've seen several Miller Syncrowave 250...

    TIG Welder

My Hobart actually came with a spool gun. I haven't used it yet. I've seen poor results MIG welding aluminum even from "professionals", that's why I figured TIG would be better for that.

    TIG Welder

I've gotten to the point where I'd like to invest in a TIG welder. I'm starting to do sheet metal work in both stainless and cold steel and would like to be able to weld aluminum up to about 1/4 inch. I've got a Hobart Ironman 230 MIG and a gas driven stick welder. I'm a hobbyist, repairing and...
