Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

I’m heavily leaning towards a Kubota SSV65. Has about 550 hours, pins tight, very clean. Needs tires but the person is willing to negotiate. I also have a Kubota dealer about 10 minutes away which helps, though I plan to work on the machine as much as possible. Seems like the SSV’s are a...

    Wacker Neuson SW28

I’m looking for opinions on a 2018 Wacker Neuson SW28. Looks to have about 500 hours and is equipped with a Perkins 854. Nice clean machine from all appearances. Any experiences with these machines, pros, cons, etc? The dealer is about 25 miles from me so some nearby support is available...

Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

Any feedback on a 2011 Cat 242B Series 3? High flow, heat / AC, 700 hours. Very clean looking machine. Asking $33K.

Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

Thanks, that's how I was approaching this machine. Need to evaluate in person, pay accordingly. It's no different in my mind from buying something used by a single owner. In both cases the machine could live a hard life, or be a great find.

Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

This one has two speeds, fully enclosed cab, solid tires, high flow, etc. Seems well-equipped.

Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

Any experiences buying used Sunbelt equipment? Apparently the S650 was formerly a Sunbelt machine. It seems this can go either way as far as machine condition and really is no different from buying from an owner.

Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

Thanks, appreciate the insight. Computers are not an issue by any means, I just don’t want to be needing the dealer for every little issue that comes up. Sounds like they are pretty reliable machines and have a good knowledge base!

Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

What can I expect to NOT be able to repair on the S650? I’m guessing Bobcat has a scan tool that requires you to go to a dealer?

Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

Any thoughts on a 2001 Cat 236 with 1500 hours ($25K). Looks to be in great shape, original owner is selling.

Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

It’s in good shape but has the Bobcat motor. Edit: apparently the Bobcat engine is made by Doosan. Not sure what to expect quality wise with a Doosan.

Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

The computer part I can understand, it seems like I’d have to go back to a 90’s machine to get away from computers. I’ve been looking pretty hard at a 2012 Takeuchi TS60V with about 550 hours. Not high flow, but it’s in excellent condition for about $25K. Others on the list: Bobcat S650...

Looking for Suggestions on Used Skid Steer

Hi All, I’m shopping for a skid steer, most likely used, and something around 7K pounds seems about the right size for work I’m interested in doing (property maintenance, light demo). I’m most interested in a tire machine because of cost and ease of maintenance. My budget is a max of $35K...

555D Shuttle in Forward While Using Backhoe

I figured this has happened before, thanks for the discussion guys and certainly a lesson learned.

555D Shuttle in Forward While Using Backhoe

Weight was off of the rear tires, not completely in the air. Transmission was in 1st gear.

555D Shuttle in Forward While Using Backhoe

Not sure how this happened, I must have bumped the shuttle lever into "forward" when spinning around to use the backhoe. I turned around to notice the lever engaged after digging for a few minutes. I immediately put the shuttle and the gear shift in neutral and idled around 1200 RPM for a few...

Ford 555D Transmission and Rear Axle Oil Dipsticks

thanks for the diagrams. I found the dipstick after looking underneath the cab and feeling around. The cab liner didn’t even seem to have a hole there, covered up with a bit of dirt. The fluid level was right in range, so that was a nice surprise.

Ford 555D Transmission and Rear Axle Oil Dipsticks

Hi All, I've recently acquired a Ford 555D (4X4) and have been trying to find the rear axle dipstick to check the oil level. The previous owner had indicated the transmission and rear axle dipstick was one in the same, and there was no separate dipstick for the rear differential only. Looking...

    Buying an older backhoe

I’m in the same situation right now. I could rent as needed but after listing out all of the immediate projects I’m at a minimum of 5 rentals which around here would total $7K. And when renting I’d likely take off work to maximize the rental machine time. So factor in rental cost and time...

    Ford 575D

I’m looking into buying a loader backhoe and have ran across a few Ford 575D’s that are available locally, somewhere between 3,000 and 5,000 hours. I’ve read some posts by others on here and not sure what the opinion on 575D is. Parts seem to be available online and not terribly expensive from...
