    Is there room to get a bottle jack between the frame and track frame? The front axle on mine was seized on a 277C and that’s how I got it off. Heat does wonders also, reasonably of coarse. Front and back need to come off some what evenly as well.

    Thanks again Nige. I will go back to Cat and have them relieve the pressure to 130psi. Install it and go from there!!!

    They set it to 280psi. I guess I need to go back and have them set it at 130. The one that came out said to charge to 130 but it is a sealed unit. So I thought maybe the precharged changed with the new style.

    Replacing the hydraulic accumulator on my Cat 277C (JWF01714) and the label states 0psi precharge but tech is stating that it needs to be precharged to approx 280psi. Has anyone come across this before?

    For reference, this is a tag I found on the internet for a 259D And for a 289D This is how I based my assumption that the tag I found in the belly of the machine was saying 0.60 Kg

    Hello Cmark, It’s a little beat up, but based on other photos of tags I found on the internet I am pretty sure this is showing 0.60kg also the part number can be seen in the lower right corner of the tag.

    Noticed the inside front idler wheel hub on my Cat 277c MTL (JWF01714) was wet. The metal face seal was leaking. Was able to get the hub rebuilt with the new face seal and inner seal. When removing the lock nut off the axle to remove the hub, it was rather tight on there. Does any one know what...

    Hey Nige, When cleaning the the belly of the machine out, I came across an aluminum tag that states “R134a 0.60 kg”. Is this the amount of refrigerant to add? This however does not correspond to the 2.80lbs previously mentioned.
