Sorry I ghosted again, I wasn’t getting updates for some reason. The engineer I spoke with from the power company said pvc only. I specifically asked about the HDPE since it would easier and cheaper. West Penn power??? Found this guy it’s closer to the budget with a thumb. Located in state...

I was wrong it’s actually about 3800 ft for the power. There are existing logging roads but I’ll need to level out one so that will be about 1100 ft of new road to connect the flat parts.

I like your process. I’m at a bit of a disadvantage because I’m new to the area. I had found a local contractor but he passed away unexpectedly a couple weeks ago. Young guy… sad. I’ve built a couple houses as well over the years of moving around in the service. Both custom and subdivision...

So 16500 delivered on that PC300…still not worth it? If not, is there a price that would make it worth it?

Nope, just a legal right of way across a rail road bridge! Plenty of room to make a helipad though if you wanted. I do have a bear though!

That was quick! I guess I’m just kidding at this point… but if we decide to sell it I’ll post here first. It has old logging roads all over it. That satellite shot is from google earth from 2000 I think. It is sloped, goes from 1200 ft to 2000ft and then the last 200ft is almost vertical up to...

Agree, the 50k price is just for the wire and the transformer, I still have to dig the trench, lay the conduit and place all the fiberglass junction boxes and the PADs. Power company says that it has to be 3 inch schd 40 pvc pipe! No HDPE…. Ridiculous…. I figure I’m close to 100k just to get...

The exposure is West, south West about at the 1500 msl level up the side of the mountain. So no real Sun until about 930, 1000 am. But yes I could clear out a big spot. The house will be propane and electric. About 5000 sq ft total.

Thanks for sharing the wisdom. Man that’s a lot of earth moving in that video, no rocks! Lucky! I hope to build a pond someday but that will have to wait. Power company is saying 50k to get power to the house
