School Me on Outside Wood Boilers.

I've got a HS tarm gasification boiler that I have in my garage( about 125' from house). I heat the garage and the house with it. The garage has in floor heating and I have a heat exchanger in my furnace duct work in the house. I found I don't have to turn the floor heat on in the garage even...

Case 580sl loader bucket spool sticking

Cool, thanks for the tips. It may be a couple days now before I can get to it. And it is working without the leveling right know so its not a big problem like it was when we couldn't curl the bucket.

Case 580sl loader bucket spool sticking

Any advise on how to get the rod out. Ours has a broken return spring on it. I have all the bolts out but it looks like the hydraulic lines need to be loose to get enough room to get it out.

    Pictures of your Backhoe!!!!!

Ours is a 2000 4 stick, with no ride control and 6900hrs. Quite a bit different then the old MF 40 we have. It uses 4 sticks too so it is going to take some time to learn the new pattern( it's backwards). I find learning the new loader with the one stick easier to changeover because it's...

Case 580sl loader bucket spool sticking

I checked the linkage that runs under the cab from the vertical cable. It seems to be siezed up in the bushing under the cab. Hopefully when we get that free everything will work as described.

Case 580sl loader bucket spool sticking

Was out trying it for a couple minutes tonight. It still seemed to be acting up. After I started to look it over in the shed I noticed that the vertical cable was loose with the bucket on the ground. Then I seen that the return spring on the end of the linkage was not hooked to anything on...

Case 580sl loader bucket spool sticking

It does have the return to dig and float positions on the control. How exactly do these work? The manual is very vage when it mentions them.

Case 580sl loader bucket spool sticking

It's the rollback that is the issue. The link was a great help. It only does it when you rollback until it hits the end of travel. Then it's like it just won't allow the rollback of the bucket unless you force it. I'll have to check the linkage and the spool. Thanks

Case 580sl loader bucket spool sticking

Just wondering if anyone has run into the spool valve hanging up after running the bucket all the way up after dumping. You can dump the bucket again, but then you have to force the spool if you want the bucket to return. I unhooked the wiring plug that goes to that spool as I thought maybe it...

    Case 580K or 580L

Thanks, I think we are going to look at a couple 580l's on the weekend. Anyone know a good site for breaking down serial numbers. I know on tractor data they list what number lot goes with what year machine, for farm tractors? Anything like that for case backhoes?

    Case 580K or 580L

We went to an auction last weekend that had a 580sl series 2 that we were going to bid on but went about $1500 more then we figured we would like to pay. It ran good, everything worked except the turbo wastegate as far as we could tell. It sold for $20,000. How much more is a decent L worth...

    Case 580K or 580L

The one we looked at was a phase 1. Are the phase 3's a better hoe as far as being more reliable? Or are they just different as far as the transmission goes. Would anyone say that a 580l would be worth $10,000 more for a farmer that doesn't put a lot of hours on the machine a year? I was...

    Case 580K or 580L

I was doing some seaching around for a newer than our backhoe and was thinking that a 580K would be about what we where wanting to spend. After looking online at a few we decided we should look at a local 580K for sale, turned out it was a higher hour hoe but had 4x4 e-hoe and was 16,000cnd...

Why the Chinese manufacturers will never be on top.

I'm in the manufacturing industry and they are going through the same things as far as equipment being made in china, korea. I remember reading a few years back about how well built the British equipment was mid-century compared to even the north american stuff. Turns out that sometimes...

    Kebelco on Ebay

Just wondering if I could get some opinons on this excavator that was on Ebay. Does it seem like a good idea to buy a excavator that is tore apart. I'm sure that putting it back together won't be a big deal( aside from time) for me, but I don't have a way to move it besides our John Deere 4040...

    What to buy??

what year? Ongrademike: You said to stay with the older 2 series cats, around what year did they start using electronics on most machines? When they started using electronics did they also raise the line pressure, or did that happen at different times?
