    Caterpillar Engine Spacer Plate

Those D8K’s really were better off in the hands of owner drivers or really good operators that knew how to start them up and shut them down properly.

    Old D9 undercarriage parts

I should point out that the old D9G in question is rigged up solely to push scrapers with a rear drawbar and 9C blade. It has a steady operator who will be pushing scrapers in bottom gear and running them out in 2nd. There won’t be alot of tight turning and spragging about on the tracks. Very...

    Old D9 undercarriage parts

Last week a friend of mine here in the UK was quoted £70k from Finnings for D9G track groups and segments. ITR quoted £18k and DCR quoted £11k. The DCR track groups and segments have been ordered with immediate availability so I’m told.

Dump trucks vs ADTs for pond dig?

Small tractor and box (pan) would be my choice. Less machines and, more importantly, less men on the job will be more money left in your wallet

    Unusual Wear on D9H Roller

The proper insert method is as Nige states. You can certainly try welding it up and civilizing it up somewhat then keep dogging the bolts up every time you use it. Once settled, feel free to cut some alloy piping up to create a bush to squeeze down on. Will probably be ok for what bit you use it...

    Unusual Wear on D9H Roller

However,It will depend on how bad it’s spun in the first place. Did the roller bearings collapse?

    Unusual Wear on D9H Roller

As others have said,it’s time for an insert done as they say. However,I’ve got my out of this pickle in the past with a D6C and a D8K by lowering the roller down on the bolts enough to ram halves of aluminium piping in both ends and crush them back up tight with the bolts. Believe it or not,it...

    Case 450C Master Link Question

    Dozer 650G Rear Final Leak

Oh yes, landfill machines have it tough. I do some work in that sector and anyone buying a standard dozer for that type of work is in for trouble. Landfill spec machines are needed for good reason. The guarding fitted to reduce the impact of trash cutting its way into seals and shafts has been...

    CAT D9G

As Nige says, depends on the era. I started working in the late 80’s where there were a mix of Cat and Komatsu tractors in the large category,Terex and Cat scrapers and Cat and Terex in the rigid truck department, although there were a handful of Lectra Haul,Euclid and Aveling Bardford rigid...

    CAT D9G

That’s correct. Me Hewes purchased the tractor from a quarry in Northumberland after I sold them a D8N and a D9R making the said D9G redundant. It’s a decent old D9G

    CAT D9G

There’s still a few hidden about on these shores Shimmy, most of which aren’t on any any social media platforms.D8 Ump and myself have been known to share a few pints occasionally when we meet up.He has some very nice D8’s,but he’s known the D9G in question for some years although I’ve not seen...

Jonathon,I’ve just advertised a D9G parts book on Old Girls for free. Do you want me to check the serial numbers tomorrow as the parts book may be useful to you

    Dozer 650G Rear Final Leak

It sounds like bearing wear is developing into other issues. It’s possible that seals have hardened up due to it not getting used regularly as half the seal stays up out of the oil when it sits for long periods, but I reakon things are developing into bank balance alterations for you.
