    TS, this sounds similar to my start, L&L Trucking in Santa Maria, April 68. Washing, greasing, tire work and learned to cuss the right way. My boss was a sailor on a destroyer in the war and he taught me how include "ethiopian" in a long line of words not usually spoken in mixed company.......

    I can guess how the kid felt. I took a friends 5 yr old boy in my 96 Pete when it was still new and he still remembers it! I sold my unrestored 72 10 years ago, still kinda miss it.

    I will add, I never pulled a hydraulic detachable until 2013, it was only a 35 ton Trailking but it suuuure easy.

    I started pulling a mechanical neck in 78 with this Pete on Hendrickson RTE440. Stuck a 4' 4x4 on the truck ramp to support the neck. These trailers were the thing to have in CA, AZ,NV as they were light enough to permit a D8H. The key to these is the ramp to the 5th wheel, too short and its too...
