Vancouver Island, BC. Logging at its Best!

Good ol' Wagner fire. 1600 litres of hyd. oil spraying on the turbo!!!! The valves are under the boom and the hoses loop around below. A #20 hose developed a pin hole leak and was aimed directly at the turbo and kept supplying it with fuel to the point where nothing we had would even touch it...

Well put....even butt and tops require less skill than heel booms and bona fide line winders are becoming a thing of the past. How many 20 or even 30 year old fallers do you know? I've watched the good guys cast out to end of their mains and place the grapple on a turn at 400 feet. When I...

    Goliath Bay

It's around Jervis Inlet. I believe it was a CZ operation but I'm not 100%. It was some floating sortyard with decks that would come up and float timber out of the water for scaling and bucking, then be sent down a line of floating juicers for sorting and bundling. Apparently quite the project....

These used to belong to May Trucking of Boston Bar/Hope. It looks that May is now no longer. The best of these went to do some hydroelectric work in Port Alberni for Hazelwood Construction. Back in the heyday May was the big highlead contractor in the valley and had as many as 13 towers...

Pat Stone's 099. It was very close to ours in design and went to a quarry or mine in the Quesnel area of BC. We tried to buy it and had a deal but they got a lot of interest, renegged on the deal and sold to a higher bidder. Don't think that guy is working it though....

Our 099 came from somewhere on the island from M and B in the late 90's (1997 maybe?). The carrier is closer to the 065 from a regular "s" model as opposed to the 078 carrier from an 046. Notice the cab is rubber mounted on ours and has a cab forward treatment (like a Skagit). Our...
