    D6C engine side covers

I made side panels for D8's out of 1/2 inch plywood. they held up quite well. I made them for working in winter weather. They can be miserable in sandy or very dry soil tho. I could remove them in 10 minutes in those conditions. If I owned the dozers I would have made them out of 11 gauge steel.

A defective fuel shut-off solenoid on the injection pump may be the problem. Your description indicates the 12 volt power supply to it may have an intermittent problem.

Tach and hr meter not working

Although you found one section of the Y/R wire damaged it could quite possibly be damaged somewhere else in the harness. Eliminating it by running a jumper around it may be another thing you could try if the problem persists.

Can not get this fitting to take grease.

If all else fails --- measure the distance from the top of the pin to just a little below the grease zerk. Lower the pin and remove the zerk and see if the bushing turned.

Case - can’t figure out hydraulic hose fitting part numbers in parts manual

When your parts book was printed, Case dealers that made up hoses in their shops used those part numbers when a new hose was made. IF they used Case OEM fittings. The numbers are pretty much obsolete and useless now as far as I know.
