Those Cat locks are pretty tough but I carry a 30" master key that deals pretty well with locks that somebody forgot to bring a key for to avoid shutting the job down.
In this area they are sold with a boot on them to keep the nasties out to help avoid freezing etc.
I have worked for many companies over the years and those cussed Master laminated locks are found just about everywhere, sometimes the keys will look almost identical but be different. They have special sets of locks sold by the box full with one key and sometimes I have found that a key that I already have will work so I never throw them away when I change jobs.
The problem with Cat locks is that they are too large for some equipment, the ubolt will not fit through the hole provided to accept a padlock so you cannot standardize your locks using them if you run other brands.Kinda like the Harley handlebars.:usa
I have found that as often as not the contractors install the disconnect key, turn it on and leave it on as policy so if that is the case the Cat doorkey/lockkey is enough to provide plenty of damage if the carrier so desires.
As long as you checked the oil and water I am sure they would not have minded, glad you got that off of your chest.
