sand and gravel pit dragline excavator or dredge

You may want to find out how deep you'll be permitted to dig. If your allowed only 30-40' a dragline will be able to do the job efficiently. A dragline would probably have a lower initial cost too. If your permit allows you to dig deeper, a dredge will be much more efficient. The deeper a...

    addvise on EX size.

The company I used to work for had a couple hitachi 450's with short sticks and 4.75yd buckets. They handled the big buckets well although I think a 65-75 ton machine would have a little faster cycle time.

    new asphalt driveway underlay

Crushed concrete can make a great road base. As long as your sub grade is hard and dry enough to properly compact the crushed concrete, you shouldn't have a problem. With the high water table, you may want to look into putting a geotextile(filter fabric) under the crushed concrete. You could...

    Grease guns

I've also had very good luck with the Milwaukee gun. On a warm day it will pump 6-7 tubes on one charge. Even if its below freezing it will pump 4-5 tubes. I think that's pretty damn good. I too have a bunch of tools that use the M12 battery, that convienence is another added bonus. I will never...

How do you build a stock pile?

I always try to keep the can low. When ejecting the material, a low cutting edge will force the material to the outside of the bowl which will help keep the rear tires in the same track as the front(if that makes sence). Here are a couple pics from last week. we had a couple operators(seat...

    Half a Million CY

Could a pair of Cat 825's replace the D65's and the two rollers. I would think that they should be ale to out push the 65's and compact as they go. Plus you would have two less machines to maintain and two less operators to pay. Just an idea.

    D6r lgp

The series 2&3 machines were nice dozers. we have had both narrow gauge and lgp. I always loved the lgp's for fine grading, especially with diff-steering.

    Which motor would you prefer?

We mostly run Mack's, set from 350hp up to 460hp and have always had good luck with all of them. The mechanical 350's in our DM's and older R models are cheap to work on and fairly easy on fuel. My neighbor has two old Ford LTL9000's running 3406's set to 425hp. I run them during harvest hauling...
